This will be my last post for awhile, as I am taking a blogging sabbatical. I applied to and was accepted into this program, so anticipate a year of intense training, growing, and preparing myself for the time when consciousness altering medicines will be a legal and viable mode of mental health treatment for conditions ranging from depression and PTSD to end of life anxiety and substance use disorders. If the FDA clinical trial timeline holds, this could be as soon as 2-3 years. I will continue to see clients in my private practice throughout the training process, with the anticipation that over the next few years, I will transition my practice to a hybrid model of traditional psychotherapy, along with providing psychadelic psychotherapy to those for whom it is clinically appropriate and are interested in this very old, yet also soon to be cutting edge treatment modality. I may post bits along the way that I think readers may find interesting. If you are interested in what this field holds, I highly recommend Michael Pollan’s excellent book on the topic. Thank you for reading, and wishing you peace on your journey.
